Neuromuscular Therapy

The core philosophy for Neuromuscular Therapy is reactivation. Clients that train in this methodology of the gym are looking for recovery. The 8 Levels of Healing create a roadmap for recovery, which minimizes plateaus as well as provides a safe training environment. The neuromuscular therapist has the experience to guide the clients through the process of recovering from a spinal cord injury. One on One : $100.00 / hour
This membership is the ultimate experience in movement recovery. In order for body parts below the level of injury to be reactivated those parts must go through an immense amount of positioning and movement. This requires that someone must physically move and stabilize the client’s body. All of the workouts are custom designed for each client and their unique characteristics; this creates a deep continuity of training guaranteeing efficiency of the external stimulus. Client evaluations are done on a monthly basis, this is a constant reminder of the progress made to date and a focus point for the next month. These are both very important due to the long process of recovery.

Supplemental : $150.00 / month
The negative responses of sitting in a wheelchair for extended periods of time changes the original blueprint of the human body. This makes the recovery process longer. In addition a client that exercises rigorously for 2 hours, stimulates the nervous system and creates energy, then sits in a chair for the rest of the day is just compounding those negative responses. As the client the energy becomes blocked due to the body’s mechanics of sitting. This will increase the recovery time due to the fact that you end up fighting the effects of the chair more than actually remapping the nervous system. A client that is able to attack their recovery process with all of their attention is able to be in the gym for up to 8 hours a day. The clients combine a minimum of 5 hours a week of hands on training with the supplemental giving them the ability to train up to 40 hours a week. This time is spent doing a variety of exercises with positional assistance, visual motor activation, and prolonged elongation. The ability to use this time to allow the input from the hands on training to functionally permeate the nervous system and body is absolutely the key to speeding up the recovery process.

Neuromuscular Integration Membership : $150.00 / month
As the client heals and learns to create movement the need for hands on training with a neuromuscular therapist is reduced. As with all memberships (excluding the Caregiver Training) p.a.t.h.-sci offers a complimentary evaluation, this determines the first custom workout program. The client then has full use of the facility, our positional and safety assistance to complete the exercises. As the responses from the workouts begin to reeducate the body, the client has the choice to purchase another hour of 1 on 1 training to get the next workout progression. The exercise menus are designed to reactivate dormant nervous system signals, thus continuing the healing process.

Performance Adaptive Training Healing

Adaptive Therapy

The core philosophy of Adaptive Therapy is functionality. For clients that have been forced to live in wheelchairs; the functionality of the pelvis, trunk, and shoulder girdle has been compromised. These same people absolutely need their shoulder girdles to operate at a high level of function under a high level of constant daily demand. Please click here to read more about our Adaptive Therapy program.

Accelerated Training : $75.00 / hour
The p.a.t.h.-sci Accelerated Training program hands on workout with a trainer. These workouts are done in a multitude of positions all out of the chair. There are 2 main goals to Accelerated Training; first, strengthen the upper body, second, force the nervous system to integrate the entire external stimulus being put into the body. The ability for the client to get out of their chair and safely exercise in various positions allows the trainer to design workouts that will place focused movement in certain areas or positions; this forces the body to adapt to our very specific stimulus. As the client’s nervous system is stimulated, both the connection and muscles are forced to be strengthened. As this is occurring the trainer is able to assist the client’s nervous system to integrate these changes and use them to help increase the functionality of the whole body. The structure for Accelerated Training follows the 8 Levels of Healing and may accompany the 1 on 1 Neuromuscular Therapy to give the recovering client a tremendous full body workout no matter what their current ability level is.

Adaptive Performance Training : $70.00 / hour
This is p.a.t.h.-sci personal training for people in wheelchairs. These workouts are custom designed by a Neuromuscular Therapist with a tremendous amount of knowledge in body mechanics, wheelchair ergonomics, and the special needs of this community. The goal of Adaptive Training is to increase the functionality of the trunk, thoracic region, and shoulder girdle. These workouts are designed to be done in the wheelchair wherever the client chooses to do them. If the client is able to transfer by themselves this may open up different positions as well, the trainer will assist minimally with safety issues. The structure for Adaptive Performance Training is based on the 5 Level Peltrunkular Training System, which was developed by JJ Fowler with expert consultation from Brian Cassidy of ADAPT. This personal training is perfect for both clients who are experiencing shoulder pain which limits their daily routine, as well as a preventive measure to maximize efficiency to stay away from shoulder pain.

Caregiver Training : $75.00 / hour
It is very important for our clients to have caregivers that are physically able to do their job. If the caregiver has musculoskeletal issues that distract them from helping, the client suffers. In response to this demand p.a.t.h.-sci created the Caregiver Custom Training, this is personal training for our clients’ caregivers and family; a neuromuscular Therapist will create the custom workout programs. The goal is to reeducate the neuromuscular system improving neutral joint angles and dynamic tension in hopes of bringing the body back to its original design.

Caregiver Membership : $40.00 / month
The Caregiver Membership is perfect for those family members and caregivers who can come into the p.a.t.h. center to choose a generic workout and exercise in a safe and fun environment. These workouts are designed to increase the overall fitness with specific goals ranging from strengthing, muscular endurance, and range of motion.
